International CES 2013 is now just a week away and all eyes in the tech world are shifting their focus towards this premium event, where observers are expecting to see several new devices from various electronic companies. This unveiling of brand new devices will feature smartphones, tablets and even hybrid phablet devices made popular by Samsung’s Galaxy Note I and II.

It has been reported that South Korea based LG electronics will be debuting a couple of new Android powered smartphones at CES 2013 along with a tablet similar to Google’s Nexus 7 and Apple’s iPad Mini.

Since this news is not official, there is not much information available regarding these upcoming devices from LG except that one of the two smartphones will have a 4.7-inch screen and its display will be edge-to-edge with a minimalistic 1mm bezel. Moreover, it is expected that this new handset will be a continuation of LG’s famous Optimus series and it might resemble Google Nexus 4 or its predecessor, the Optimus G.

To the extent that the other smartphone is concerned, it seems that LG has also decided to enter into the phablet world like its fellow Korean company Samsung. The report says that for the first time ever LG is bringing in a 5.5-inch phablet that will boast a full HD display plus a 403ppi resolution.

The report also indicated that LG is not only looking to challenge Samsung by introducing its own hybrid device like Galaxy Note II, but it is also ready to defy Apple and Google. The third device that the second-largest electronics manufacturer in Korea will showcase at CES 2013 is going to be a 7-inch tablet with a screen resolution of 1920×1200 and 324ppi. With this 7-inch slate LG will look to confront Nexus 7 and iPad Mini in New Year.
