For Nokia polycarbonate bodies of its handsets are their USP, as just before the launch of last Lumia series phone the Finnish company had posted a comment on its Conversations blog in which it stated that the polycarbonate bodies of their cellphones have given them “a human touch”.
On top of it, Nokia has also stated on a number of occasions that the colourful designs of their Windows powered phones have been able to catch almost everyone’s eye. In fact its colourful mobiles have become a hallmark now, thanks to their plastic bodies because according to the company it was not possible to produce such designs with metal.
However, now it appears that this thinking of Nokia has changed. As according to The Verge it has been learnt that the Finland based mobile phone maker is making an attempt to develop its next flagship device as more light weight and thin by replacing plastic clad with aluminium body. The codename of that flagship device is Catwalk and it will see the first light sometime during this year.
As far as the features of Catwalk are concerned there is no update available on them at the moment, but people, who are familiar with the future plan’s of Nokia says that this phone (Catwalk) will have the same hardware specifications that its predecessor, the Lumia 920 has.
In spite of this fact, the adaptation of an aluminium body instead of plastic clad is excellent news for Nokia fans, especially for those who are using its N8 smartphone because users of this handset have never approved of polycarbonate bodies.
Along with Catwalk, two other Lumia smartphones will join this array during this year.
