Japanese electronics giant, Panasonic recently unveiled its latest bone conduction headphones at CES 2013 that are targeted towards athletes and exercise junkies.
The RP-BTGS10 takes its cue from military communication units while utilising Bluetooth technology for easy sync with smartphones and other Bluetooth transmitters.
Unlike normal headphones which send sound directly into the ear, the Panasonic bone conduction headphones use a unique method to transmit sound. The headphones sit on top of the head reaching down to the front of the ear canal. This leaves the ears open to receive ambient sounds as the headphones transmit music through a user’s cheekbones straight into their head.
Those who want their music with them during their daily outdoor workout cannot miss out on this amazing device as it not only provides them with their favourite tunes but unlike normal headphones also keeps the ears open ensuring safety from big city traffic as well as other obstacles.
Do not expect some great sound fidelity or noise cancellation technology from this device as it’s not targeted towards audiophiles but rather for those who need to remain aware of their surroundings.
Expect the device to become available in a variety of colours when it is released.
Panasonic has yet to disclose the price of the new headphones which are expected to be released sometime during fall 2013.
Convenient and innovative, these are perfect for cyclists or those who wish to exercise outdoors while grooving to their favourite tunes as well as being extremely stylish. Compatible with mp3 players, smartphones and other Bluetooth enabled devices these are a great pick for those looking for good music while remaining aware of their surroundings.
