Apple CEO Tim Cook had made it quite clear that the California base firm would be facing problems in meeting the demand for the upcoming 27-inch iMacs. However, he had not been clear about how long the delays would be and today the lack of supply seems to be hurting them as 9to5 Mac reports Apple has pushed shipment date of its ultra slim desktop computers to February from January.

The report from 9to5 Mac states that the shipment date of 27-inches iMacs now stands at “three to four weeks”, as updated on Apple’s online Store. This means that buyers who had placed orders for this super slim desktop will most likely not get their computers before February.

Buyers of the 21.5-inch iMac models should not be concerned because reports from news outlets confirm that their 21.5-inches iMacs orders are still marked to be shipped in the next seven to ten days. Unlike 27-inch iMacs buyers, the buyers of the smaller iMac will be able to see their computers a lot sooner.

Let’s hope that Apple will soon overcome the shortage of 27-inch iMacs so their buyers will not be turned off by the long waiting period. With desktop sales slowing down all over the world, Apple should consider it self lucky that it still has enough orders to cause shortages. However, with such drastic delays, buyers may simply choose to not purchase the device at all.
