The arrival of the Microsoft Surface Pro is now only a few weeks away as the make of the Windows OS tweeted the news on Tuesday, January 15. The tweet actually came from the General Manager of Microsoft’s Surface products, Panos Panay, who wrote in the post, “On my way to the factory to check out #Surface Pro coming off the line…arriving in the coming weeks”.
The Microsoft Surface Pro is no surprise because Microsoft stated at Surface RT launch that the Windows 8 Pro edition of its tablet would arrive after 90 days. The Surface RT was launched on October 26, 2012, so 90 days are about to be over in a few weeks time.
The next edition of the Surface tablet will look to entice consumers with its upscale specs, which includes an Intel Ivy Bridge processor that is the fastest Core Series chip used in Windows 8 notebooks so far, 16:9 ClearType screen that sports a 1,920×1,080 resolution plus a Mini DisplayPort that can boost the display resolution up to 2560X1440 and last but not the least Windows 8 Pro itself.
Moreover, the reviews of Surface Pro are also give a positive outlook on the device, as Cnet Reviews said, “The Surface Pro is the more significant product, because it makes no computing compromises: it’s the dream of a tablet as your PC, while the original Surface felt more like an iPad competitor”.
Reviews continued. “It all worked exactly as advertised, and with a extremely elegant, bordering on beautiful, sense of design.”
But this Windows based tablet may experience a snag in the form low battery life, as it features Ivy Bridge processors that consume lot of power.
Microsoft will offer two different versions of Surface Pro, the 64GB version and 128 GB version, their prices will be $899 and $999.
