The Vice President of Home Entertainment at Sony, Hiroshi Sakamoto, indicated some time ago that the next generation of PlayStation might be introduced at the 2013′s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) or earlier. However, this does not mean that Sony has stopped producing the current version of the PlayStation, which is commonly known as PS3. According to the latest update, the Japanese manufacturer is soon bringing in a colourful variant of its popular gaming console. PS3 will finally be getting rid of its boring colour scheme and enter into the age of bright and colourful gaming consoles. Sony is releasing two brand new colours in PS3, “azurite blue” and “garnet red.” The PS3 will be made available for sale in these two colours next month in Japan, which gives a chance to the gaming devotees in the country to decorate their room with this colourful console.
However, Sony has already made it clear that these colourful PS3s will not be offered in a large quantity. Therefore, people who really want to buy these colourful variants of the PS3 should keep the cash ready before February 28, 2013 when it will hit the shelves in Japan. The price of this upcoming gaming console is ¥24,980 ($279) and it packs a 250GB HDD. As far as Europe is concerned the colours have already hit the stores over the weekend, where Amazon.de has listed it at a price of €330 (about $440) and the console get a 500GB HDD.
Gaming aficionados in North America have to wait for the official confirmation, as so far Sony has not made it know when they will make the colourful versions of PS3 available for sale in the region.
