Research In Motion has suffered many leaks of its upcoming BlackBerry 10 smartphones that have revealed key features and design. One thing BB10 fans were missing was at what price the new smartphones would be selling when they hit store shelves. That wait might have ended with only a few days to go before the global launch of BB10 thanks to an anonymous tipster who has unveiled the pricing for the all-touch Sim-free edition of RIM’s Z10 for UK customers.
According to the latest leak, the price for Z10 will be £480. This information was gained from a snapshot of Carphone Warehouse’ internal database, in which a white variant of Z10 was listed along with the price. The price in the alleged image clearly shows the BLAZ10WHI model number of the device that syncs well with the preceding slip from the seller.
If the £480 price turns out to be true than the new BB10 all-touch smartphone will be just £30 less expensive than Apple’s latest entry-level iPhone 5. However, to observe the legitimacy of this leaked snapshot we all have to wait just a couple of days more, as RIM is all set to launch its new BB10 OS and smartphones on January 30. And after the introduction, the Waterloo-based firm will make them available for sale. According to the latest report, BB10 smartphones will hit stores in Canada on February 5th.
RIM’s future hinges on the success of BB10 and related devices. It seems that the company is looking at every angel to make sure that its latest offering becomes a success.
