Amazon and Google Expected To Clash In More Sectors In 2013

The Amazon and Google rivalry is expected to escalate further as we step in 2013 because both technology companies are set to meet each other head on in more sectors including cloud computing, ecommerce, hardware and advertising.

 

Google earns a majority of its income from online advertising and Amazon is looking to further penetrate the sector in 2013. The maker of the Kindle tablet has proceeded to develop an extremely valuable customer purchase database through which buyers can now target specific audiences. If Amazon can lure advertisers with this valuable data, then it can prove to be a serious threat for Google and its major source of revenue.

 

Amazon is not the only one making forays into enemy territory. Google is planning to make more efforts in 2013 to enhance its cloud computing with the Compute Engine which is the search engines answer to Amazon’s EC2 platform.

 

This will not be the only field in which Google is making efforts to compete against Amazon and the mobile and tablet sector are increasing becoming a battle ground for the Android OS and the Kindle ecosystem. To challenge Google, Amazon might introduce its very own Kindle smartphone.
