Amazon Launches 7-inch and 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD Tablets in More Than 170 Countries Across the Globe

Amazon has officially launched its new Kindle Fire HD tablet on Thursday, May 23rd, in two different sizes including a 7-inch and 8.9-inch version. The new slate from Amazon boasts HD display, a powerful processor and battery to keep it alive for 10 straight hours and is now available for sale in more than 170 countries across the world. In addition, the Kindle Fire HD tablet can be pre-ordered from the flagship website of Amazon and they will be shipped to their respective owners from June 13, according to the company. As far as the prices of the new tablet is concerned, the 8.9-inch version of Kindle Fire HD can be pre-ordered for $284, whereas the 7-inch edition is obtainable at a price of $214, if pre-ordered.

 

According to the official press release of Amazon the new slate has, “stunning customized HD display with in-plane switching, Advanced True Wide polarizing filter and customized laminated touch sensor for 25% less glare with rich colour and deep contrast from any viewing angle; ideal for movies, apps, and gaming.

The 8.9-inch version of the new Kindle Fire HD tablet has a dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storing capacity and free cloud storage only for Amazon content. The 7-inch edition of HD slate has 16GB of internal storage capacity. The new breed of Kindle Fire tablets is also quite light and thin as compared to their predecessors. Moreover, since the Kindle Fire HD tablets arrives automatically pre-registered therefore users can instantly start enjoying content they purchase from Amazon or any other online shop for new content.
