Amazon Launches Mexico Kindle Store, Offers 70,000 Spanish eBooks and 1,000 Titles at Just $.70 Cents

In an effort to further boost its customer base, the world’s leading e-commerce company, Amazon launched its Mexico Kindle Store on Thursday, August 29th for consumers in Mexico. With the launch of new Mexico Kindle Store Amazon has now further extended its online eBook retail platform. The people of Mexico will now be able to get more than two million eBooks from the Mexico Kindle Store of Amazon. The significant thing about this huge collection is that 70,000 of the titles in these eBooks are written in Spanish. Besides this, the new store also offers titles in Nahualt and other native languages of Mexico from the Instituto Nacional de Lenguas Indígenas.

 

To celebrate this launch of Mexico Kindle Store, Amazon has also offered 1,000 titles for just MXN$9 that is equal to $.70 cents. On this occasion, Amazon also made Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite available for sale for the first time ever in Gandhi stores. The retail prices of Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite are MXN$1,399 and MXN$2,399 respectively. The e-commerce giant issued a press release on this occasion, which includes statements from the Director of Kindle Content for Latin America and the Marketing Manager of Gandhi, which are as below:

 

The Director of Kindle Content for Latin America, Pedro Huerta said in a statement that, “The vast majority of Mexicans do not have access to a bookstore in their town, so we’re happy to launch the Mexico Kindle Store today and bring a huge bookstore with over 2 million titles to anyone with an Internet connection. We are also excited to bring Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite to Mexico at Gandhi stores. Kindle Paperwhite offers an unparalleled reading experience, with a display that reads like real paper, an innovative built-in front light, a small and light-weight design and 8 weeks of battery life so customers can easily dive into their favourite books.”

 

The Marketing Manager of Gandhi, Alberto Achar said that, “In order to provide a new experience and bring books to all our customers in an innovative way, we will offer Amazon’s Kindle in all of our bookstores. We believe it is a great option to enjoy reading at an affordable price. We are confident it will have very good acceptance by readers,” said,. “It is very important to us to take books to anyone interested in reading, using all possible channels. Amazon’s Kindle is a device that easily and quickly serves this purpose.”
