Amazon Releases Kindle Paperwhite e-Reader in Canada

After announcing the latest version of its popular e-book readers, Amazon has finally made it known on Tuesday, January 23 that the company has released its next generation of Kindle e-reader for sale in Canada. This new version of Amazon’s famous e-book reader is known as Kindle Paperwhite and according to the multinational company it is “the most advanced e-reader ever built.” This can be judged from the fact that Kindle Whitepaper boasts 62 percent more pixels and has got a 25 percent better screen contrast than its predecessor.

 

According to TechVibes the latest edition also incorporates a “patented built-in front light for reading” that works in all sorts of lighting conditions. In addition to this, Kindle Whitepaper also includes a potent battery that can last up to two months after charging and this time Amazon has made it available with 3G that will costs Canadians $199. A Wi-Fi version of this latest e-book reader is also made available for sale at $139.

 

Amazon has also made it known in this announcement Kindle users in Canada can now directly access its Canada Kindle Store. This means that Canadians can now browse through 1.5 million books in Canada Kindle Store, of which 35,000 are free.

 

On this occasion, Vice President of Amazon Kindle, Dave Limp said, “We’re excited to make the best-selling and most advanced e-readers in the world available to our Amazon.ca customers for the first time, making it easier and more affordable than ever for Canadian readers to own a Kindle. With a Kindle in their hands, Canadian customers can now directly access the Kindle Store with the largest selection of the books people want to read, including the largest selection of best sellers and over 250,000 titles that are exclusive to the Kindle Store.”

 

Senior technology merchant at Staples Canada, Mark Shanahan added that, “E-readers have found their place in today’s digital lifestyle by providing users with a unique reading experience.”
