Many BlackBerry users are now looking for smartphones with a lot of significant apps that these BlackBerry handsets does not contain. Even though the recent BlackBerry smartphones have high volumes of apps as compare to the previous versions, they are still unable to meet iOS and Android in the app market.

But if BlackBerry users are thinking to abandon their cell phones because of shortage of any apps, they should not do it yet. Now with the help of a lifeline app recently introduced on BB10, BlackBerry users can run hundreds even thousands of Android apps. A new version of Android runtime has been released which allows BlackBerry users to run Android apps without any restrictions BlackBerry had set before.

The runtime could successfully load on BlackBerry 10 earlier but did not work properly because of BlackBerry’s limitations. The new version of Android runtime manages to work properly with all these limitations. One cannot rule out the possibility of phone crashing at the time of installation, as runtime is not an official BlackBerry release.

Soon BlackBerry users can use Instagram on their phones, according to a report on N4BB. However, according to Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom, Instagram app will not be coming to BlackBerry anytime now. The report on N4BB said, an alleged developer leaked this news that soon BlackBerry users can also use Instagram into the BlackBerry Hub.

The recent reports show that BlackBerry has been suffering a decline in sales worldwide. According to a recent announcement by the UAE’s Telecom Regulatory Authority, in the smartphone market BlackBerry is now the second most popular handset across the world, with a 10.7 % market share, in terms of mobile networks registration.

At the time of the launching of BlackBerry Q10, many retailers thought that this will remain the best handset in terms of sales when compared to Apple iPhone and Samsung S4. But the sale of BlackBerry Q10 continues to decline because of lack of popular apps and no new development.

“Every day my BB9900 freezes about three to four times and I am sick of it.  From a significant lack of applications to no proper integration to social media, there are about 50 million reasons why I have decided to switch over,” says Nandu R.
