Apple Can Still Capture Market Share

After releasing its quarterly report that claimed that Apple secured a profit of over $13 billion in the quarter that ended last December, the company’s share started declining, yes you read it correct. This was the figure most companies can just dream of achieving. Then why did Apple’s share decline? An even important question is how will the company gain stability in the stock market?

Admittedly, the figure of $13 billion was not a hefty one for Apple as the company had recorded even better profits earlier. Also, a relatively slower growth for the company was predicted for the current quarter. Moreover, there were reports that Apple had cancelled some of its production orders owing to low demand of iPhone.

These all developments contributed to devaluing Apple’s share in the stock market. However, the world has not ended for the technology giant and although there is a question mark on the creative ability of Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs’ successor Tim Cook, the latter seemed unbothered by the declining stock prices.

Among many of the measures Cook has taken and will take to recapture the market again, one is to promote the brand in the unexplored markets all over the world. This was not the case with Jobs. During his time Apple focused on high-end consumers. It still does the same, but Apple might introduce a new product this year for the markets of the developing countries.

One more thing, a very important one, is to enter a broader electronics market. Apple’s rival, Samsung, not only makes smartphones, but it has increased its market penetration by manufacturing many other items including home appliances. Apple is also reportedly going to enter this market and introduce a HDTV, but there is no timeline for the launch of this product.

The market is very broad and if Apple is able to capture new markets through cheaper versions of its current products, and starts manufacturing other electronics items it can once again start securing huge profits.
