Earlier rumours that Apple has already started working on the fifth generation of iPad started making the rounds. Online news outlets were reporting that the device may see first light in a few months time. The rumour also has it that the design and specs of this next gen iPad would also be different from its predecessors, as it has taken its cues from the latest iPad mini. The fifth generation iPad is expected to be slimmer and will have a white/silver and black/slate colour scheme that we have already seen in iPad mini. Now 9to5Mac has revealed that a source close to them has reported that the Cupertino company is gearing up to release another iPad. This will be a 128GB edition of the iPad and with its launch Apple will add another SKU to its growing line-up of tablets. Interestingly the new iPad is not going to be the fifth generation slate we were talking about earlier.
According to the report, the 128GB iPad is actually a variant of the fourth gen slate from Apple and the design of this forthcoming device is also not going to be different from the current model. In addition to this, 128GB variant of the 4th gen iPad will arrive in the original black and white colour scheme. Plus it will come in two editions, a Wi-Fi only version and a Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
Nevertheless, unlike its 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB variants of 4th gen iPad, the 128GB iPad will be a more superlative SKU. Last but certainly not the least, a 10 pack deal will be offered to educational institutions.
