Apple is rumoured to start production of iPhone 5S in March this year, while it will launch the smartphone successor to the iPhone 5, which was launched a few months ago, in mid-2013, possibly around June/July.
This is considered as a surprising move because the iPhone 5 was released not very long ago, and the plans of introducing the iPhone 5S must carry a strong justification on Apple’s part. However, the company has so far not commented on any such development.
Apple has also remained tight-lipped over reports that it is planning on introducing a cost-effective iPhone that will cost around $100 to $150. The cost-effective iPhone is also expected to be launched this year.
Apple’s plans of introducing the cheap phone was seen as a move to target a bigger market, especially the developing nations that are fast increasing reliance on smartphones but cannot afford a brand like Apple. This has allowed other companies, including Apple’s rivals, to take over those markets and now the latter is trying to capture this market.
The introduction of iPhone 5S will also be a move in the same direction as Apple wants to retain its customers by providing them with the best possible facilities and services. Although the reports regarding production and launch of iPhone 5S are not confirmed and could be rubbished, there is no denying that they have created a buzz in the tech-world. Also, separate reports, in a relatively shorter span, have indicated that iPhone 5S will be launched this year. This gives a room for speculation and they will continue to grow unless any official version is presented.
