After Apple’s iPads (Mini especially) and iPhone made its rounds through the hype machine, the handheld delights gave way to the hotly anticipated iMac. According to rumours that were swirling on the interwebs, the newly designed 21.5 inch iMacs, which were supposed to debut by November, have since been deferred till 2013. These rumours made several iMac devotees a little upset as many were hoping to get their hands on one before the tech friendly holiday season.

However, according to the latest update, iMac fans should collectively perk up because sources have confirmed that the new machine from Apple will be shipped as per the original plan. This means that the latest iMacs will hit stores before the end of November, with the source sharing that “The plan is still the plan”.

In addition to this, it was also learnt that following the release of new 21.5 inch iMac its sibling 27 inch iMac will make its debut in December. So now Apple fans will get to see two new models of iMac instead of one before the end of this year.

There is however a slight catch, as CEO of Apple Tim Cook expects shortages in the supply of iMac. The CEO of Apple mentioned the potential shortage during the company’s last quarterly earnings announcement.

Cook said, “In terms of general shortages on the iMac, we’ll be constrained for the full quarter in a significant way. Part of that is that we’re beginning shipping the 21.5-inch iMac in November and the 27-inch in December. And so there will be a short amount of time during the quarter to manufacturer and ramp those, and I expect the demand to be robust. So we will have a significant shortage there.”
