With the launch event less than a week away (TQ was on it), the hype surrounding the iPhone 5 is beginning its build to crescendo. Apple’s plan is to carry those good vibes into the launch of another hotly anticipated device the tech icon has created; the 7” iPad Mini.
An animation and digital content studio called Aatma Studios has created an incredible concept piece based around both of Apple’s next devices. The video explores the differences between the new device and the last Apple phone, the 4S. Beyond that it explores some interesting features including fingerprint scanning, wireless charging as well as a Siri-based Message Centre.
The most incredible feature however is the iPhone 5’s transition into an iPad using the fabled and patented (TQ was on it) pinch and zoom functionality.
Aatma’s CEO Pramod Modi Shantharam told Mashable that the concept, known as stretchable electronics is still in an optimistic infancy stage.
“We’ve read that researchers have developed materials that can stretch up to 200% of their original size, with a combination of a porous polymer and liquid metal. We wanted to incorporate this into our concept.”
This stunning video is not the first time Aatma has used its animation and content skills to conceptualize Apple devices. In March of this year the studio created a 3D hologram concept for multi-player gaming using iPads. It followed that effort up with a password protection video that explodes upon confirmed theft.
