Phone makers are finally trying to solve customer complaints regarding the increasingly low battery life that comes with the latest gadgets. As smartphones pack ever bigger battery guzzling screens consumers have long complained about the low number of hours their phone battery delivers.

At the recently concluded CES Exhibition in Las Vegas some of the leading smartphone makers in the world unveiled their latest devices which packed bigger batteries as well as new features designed to deliver greater battery life to consumers.

This showcases a marked shift by phone makers from churning out ever thinner smartphones with small batteries to catering to consumers that want their devices working longer regardless of phone size.

LG was one of the companies that introduced its latest G Pro device that will become the latest addition to its Optimus line. Packed with features from a gorgeous high definition five-inch display as well as a quad core processor running at 1.7GHz and a 13-megapixel camera, the G Pro has a massive 3,000mAh battery to provide longer running time for consumers.

LG’s Ken Hong in a statement about the phone said:

“The decision to put a 3,000mAh battery in the Optimus G Pro was based on our belief that this device deserved a battery that could keep the large 5-inch screen running strong all day. It also sends a clear message to consumers, many of whom say short battery life is their biggest gripe.”

Other firms also showcased their own methods to combat short battery life with Sony incorporating a Battery Stamina mode in its newest Xperia Z model. Chipmakers are also turning to delivering processors that guzzle less battery but deliver more power with Nvidia’s newest Tegra 4 line claiming 45% less power consumption than the previous Tegra 3.

Finally the consumer voice has been heard by smnartphone makers and the newest models aim to deliver longer battery life allowing their customers to continue their tasks without much hassle.
