Bayer HealthCare had made up their mind about pursuing Toronto based Radimetrics Inc. in order to sign an acquisition deal with this healthcare software development company. The efforts of Bayer finally bore fruit, as on November 26 the healthcare company announced that they had finally reached a deal with the Canadian firm, agreeing to purchase all outstanding shares of the software development company. Financial details of this deal were not made public by Bayer.

On this occasion Head of Bayer HealthCare’s Medical Care division, Alan Main said that, “This is a strategic acquisition as Bayer moves its Radiology & Interventional business forward to be the end-to-end provider of products, solutions and service for the radiology customer.”

Aside from an office in Toronto, Radimetrics also has a place of work in Scotland. This healthcare software development company has created its famous software eXposure with the help and support of its employees working in these facilities. The eXposure program was developed to measure radiation exposure of a patient with multiple imaging methods. However, this software is also used to manage and define scanner protocols, as it is a powerful improvement and quality assurance platform.

With this acquisition, the powerful software and the employees of Radimetrics in Scotland and Toronto have become a part of Bayer group that will now extend its wings by increasing its current informatics batch in the Radiology & Interventional organization.

Alan also stated on this occasion that, “Bayer Healthcare’s Radiology & Interventional is well positioned as a leader in the industry to accelerate broad market adoption of eXposure to new customers who are looking for ways to better leverage technology and improve radiation dose monitoring accuracy. The combined strengths of our informatics platforms will drive future innovative customer solutions.”
