BlackBerry has launched its new smartphone, the Z10, in Saudi Arabia, as the company keeps on exploring potential markets for its signature product that, according to many analysts, will make or break the company’s future.

The new version of the BlackBerry smartphone has been launched recently. It is available in many main markets of the world including the U.K., Canada and the UAE, and will be available in the U.S. shortly. Along with these markets, where the company has a loyal fan base, BlackBerry is making the new product approachable for many other markets in an attempt to attract more customers.

The new BlackBerry has more than 70,000 apps and there are several apps in Arabic that are expected to entice the users from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Gazette quoted Khaled Kefel, Senior Country Director, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, BlackBerry, as saying:

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is driving innovation in the region and together with the government and our carrier partners we continue to support this growth.”
He added: “Our commitment to KSA extends from ensuring that our latest smartphones like the BlackBerry Z10 are available for customers here, to providing local entrepreneurs with training and resources to help them achieve success.”

BlackBerry has already been launched in France and South Africa, and KSA is the sixth country in the world where the smartphone is launched.

Launch in Italy and Germany

Meanwhile, the Canadian-based smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch the new Z10 smartphone in two European countries, Italy and Germany, on Thursday, according to Bloomberg.

BlackBerry is quite far away from its competitors, Apple and Samsung, in the European markets, and it has to show some strong sales figure to come closer to giving tough time to these companies that have dominated the smartphone market. It is yet to be known how the new smartphone will feature in these markets, but some early reviews have increased the hype of the new phone and the loyal fans are certainly going to get their hands on the Z10 smartphone. However, it will be interesting to note how many new users BlackBerry will attract. This will tell us the actual success ratio of the smartphone in the two main European markets.
