BlackBerry that is previously known as Research In Motion thinks it is innovating at a much better pace than its rival technology smartphone manufacturers such as Apple and Google. The Canadian smartphone manufacturer also strongly believes that it can convince those who doubt the brand to buy BlackBerry 10 devices. While talking to the Canadian Press an executive of the Waterloo-based company, Sebastien Marineau-Meshas, claimed that the “velocity” of Google’s and Apple’s innovation is getting slower with the passage of time, whereas in contrast to them BlackBerry has “come to market with a whole new operating system that reimagines the mobile experience.” However, at the same time Marineau-Meshas, who actually holds the office of senior vice president of software at BlackBerry, did admit that the ecosystem of BlackBerry 10 has not reached the same level where big tech companies are standing at the moment, but in time that too will soon change.

He was quoted as saying, “I think if you look at the app selection it’s been growing very rapidly. I think people forget that we’ve grown 30,000 or 40,000 apps since the launch of Z10 (earlier this year), we’re at well over 100,000 apps and it’s continuing to accelerate. So it’s just a matter of time before we get all of the apps people are looking for.”

Apart from this, the senior vice president of software at BlackBerry also gave hints about what his company has been sharing with the media for quite some time now that they are looking to incorporate BB10 platform into various things like appliances and motor cars in order to give a seamless tech communications experience. Shedding some more light on the future of the BB10 platform, Marineau-Meshas gave the example of driving a vehicle that knows the calendar of the driver and just as he or she sits in the car it automatically programs the navigation to obtain the destinations based on that information.

However, to develop this kind of seamless technology, BlackBerry requires some time therefore Marineau-Meshas indicated that we might be able to see this happening as early as 2014. Till then, we should look forward to the new line-up of BB10 mobile devices, which includes a fresh PlayBook edition and most probably a hybrid device like Samsung Galaxy Note II. But BlackBerry phablet at this point in time is just a myth, as officially the Canadian company has not confirmed the news.
