After releasing two high-end smartphones, BlackBerry has now launched its first mid-range handset, the Q5, which is powered by the latest BB10 OS from the Canadian company. BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins, revealed the new Q5 with its physical QWERTY keyboard on Tuesday, May 14th at BlackBerry Live, the annual conference of the company. In fact, the two physical QWERTY smartphones from BlackBerry are quite alike each other, especially when it comes to design. On this occasion Heins told the crowd sitting in front of him that, “I think you’re really going to like it. It is a sleek, slim, high-performance device.”
So far BlackBerry has not given out an exact release date of the Q5 but it has made it known that the smartphone will hit select markets (Latin America, Europe and Asia) in July. Moreover, the Waterloo-based smartphone manufacturer will make the mid-range handset available in three different colours including red, white and black.
