Canada Gets Amazon Cloud Drive Along With Android and iOS App

Fans of Amazon services in Canada usually have to wait before they are able to access new features because the US ased company launches most of its updates in its home country. That is why Canadian residents are always excited to hear news from Amazon.ca including this week where the company announced that it will be releasing Amazon Cloud Drive to Canadians. The technology giant has state that users can now store digital content on the Amazon Cloud which they can access through the Cloud Drive. There is also an app called Cloud Drive Photos that can be used with iOS and Android devices to upload and interact with the cloud. For now users will get 5 GB of storage for free while any additional space will cost them $10 a year. Canadian mobile device users can download the app from iTunes if they have an iOS product and Google Play for Android devices.

 

Russell Dicker, Director of Amazon Cloud Drive, stated on the occasion, “Millions of customers around the globe have already discovered the benefits of Amazon Cloud Drive to safely store and manage precious files like photos, videos and documents. We are proud to bring Amazon Cloud Drive to our customers in Canada.  With Amazon Cloud Drive, you can manage and access files across multiple physical devices and you don’t have to worry about hard drive crashes. All of your content is stored safely on Amazon’s servers and is accessible from anywhere using a PC, Mac or web browser.”

 

Amazon also spoke about their product and said, “Cloud Drive for Windows and Mac includes File Sync, which automatically synchronizes files and helps customers easily store and manage their digital content in the Amazon Cloud from a folder on their computer. The app makes it simple for users to put files in Amazon Cloud Drive and access them from any of their computers, ensuring they always have access to the latest version of their files.”

 

The latest cloud services make its debut right after Amazon launched their Mobile Shopping App and Prime Service for Canadians. The shopping app lets users, “customers to browse and shop for products, compare prices, read reviews and make purchases from their smartphone or tablet. One feature specific to this Canadian version of the app is the option to shop in French.” The Prime service is a” membership program that provides “all-you-can-eat” Free Two-Day shipping to customers for an annual fee of $79.”
