Canada Post To Work With OSF Global Services To Develop OSF Integrator For Demandware and Canada Post

On April 18 the government run Canada Post revealed that it had signed an deal with OSF Global Services, an IT service provider, to help make “a superior online shopping experience.” The organizations goal is to use the professional services to improve the current systems of shipping, delivery and returns. Canada Post is looking at OSF to create an platform that will “seamlessly and cost-effectively” bring together Canada Post web services and Demandware Commerce. The development will result in a plug-in called the OSF Integrator for Demandware and Canada Post. This will allow retailers using Demandware the ability to easily utilize Canada Post’s retail network and customer services.

 

René Desmarais, Senior Vice-President, Parcels at Canada Post, says that, “Our latest collaboration shows that Canada Post is committed to developing e-commerce in Canada. By creating relationships with all players in the digital space, including IT experts, we are enabling retailers to improve the end-to-end online shopping experience and better satisfy their customers.”

 

The retailers are not the only ones who will benefit from the deal. Customers that buy from Demandware seller sites will  sites will get more choice along with the many plus points of Canada Post’s large number of e-commerce features. Some the superior services include better shipping, delivery, tracking and return.

 

President and CEO of OSF Global Services, Gerard Szatvanyi, said that, “E-commerce retailers need powerful solutions that allow them to maximize shipping convenience for their customers. OSF Integrator for Demandware and Canada Post will deliver the speed, accuracy and convenience demanded by online retailers and shoppers in the fast-growing Canadian e-commerce market.”

 
Tech Vibes reports that the new deal will bring many benefits because of OSF Global Services expertise. Users will be able “to set accurate customer expectations with precise expected delivery dates; convenient delivery options, including delivery to the Canadian post office of choice; and tracking orders directly from the merchant’s online store, according to Canada Post.”

 

Canad Post has been very active in bringing the best of technology to their customers in their pursuit of delivering a “reliable, affordable and universal service.” The national company has introduced many eCommerce and web based services to users to help them compete in the online marketplace. Canadian firms have the advantage because they can now offer their customers a number of shipping methods along with Canada Post. This attracts customers because they have the ability to select which ever shipping provider they want including the very efficient Canada Post.
