Brossard, Quebec based company Acquisio announced today that they had acquired software development firm ScienceOps, thereby expanding their product offering. Acquisio offers clients a performance media platform which allows them to manage and monitor a plethora of media around the internet in order to track performance from a sole source.

The move is strategic in nature, as ScienceOps are best known for a product known as adMetrica, a set of algorithms specifically created to improve ad performance on Google’s AdWords system. That knowledge, used to create the most effective ads will now be able to combine with a dashboard that monitors and tracks performance.

Part of the agreement also involves ScienceOps’s President and Founder Bryan Minor staying on with the company to become Acquisio’s new Chief Scientist. The financial parameters of the deal have not been released.

Along with the acquisition, Acquisio also announced new funding from capital growth fund Tandem Expansion as well as investment fund Fonds de solidarité FTQ. The total amount of the investment was not disclosed; however the money will be put towards further expansion and future acquisitions.

As online advertising becomes increasingly important due to societal dependence on mobile devices as well as sheer amount of time we spend on the internet, companies like Acquisio will realise an increased importance and worth.
