Canadian startup, Voices.com, connects businesses with professional voice over talent and has seized $500,000 in terms of funds from the Federal Economic Development Agency via the Southern Ontario Fund for Investment in Innovation. With the allocation of this fund, the London, Ontorio based startup has become the first applicant to get a loan from the $12 million fund which is portrayed as an “important milestone.” Member of Parliament for London, Susan Truppe, made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario together with Treasurer of the Western Ontario Community Futures Development Corporations Association, Don Anderson on Tuesday, February 19.
According to Voices.com, it will use the $500,000 million loan to back the development of operations and help int the execution of a sales plan that includes the making of a mobile app which will be used by its current clients and potential clients. In addition to this, the company will also allocate some part of the loan to further develop its business via three initiatives: mobile, social and global. Voices.com expects that these three initiatives will subsequently create 35 new vacancies in their company.
MP Truppe said, “Our government recognizes that innovation is a catalyst for prosperity in both rural and urban communities. Through this fund, we are investing in innovation that will create new business opportunities for companies today, which will help to secure a bright and prosperous future for all of western Ontario.”
Anderson added that, “Voices.com is an example of the type of innovation that will enable western Ontario to re-establish its leadership as an economic engine in the global marketplace.”
Chief Marketing Officer of Voices.com, Stephanie Ciccarelli stated that, “With the help of the Western Ontario CFDC Association, we’ll be able to increase the number of jobs available to talented people living and working in London, Ontario Canada.”
Voices.com basically helps television stations, radio, casting directors, marketing directors, voice talent agencies and advertising agencies find the required talent by giving them access to professional voice over talent and narrators through its site. The award winning service from allows buyers to simply search or hire the desired person after checking out their profile. Now the fresh funding will further boost the services of Voices.com because they are planning to develop a mobile app that will help them in spreading their influence and scope.
