ConcreteCharger is a new and innovative wireless phone charger that has been launched by O’dea Design. iPhone in Canada claims that the, “ConcreteCharger, a product developed by O’dea Design, is a simple and stark cement block that wirelessly emits a charge to phones placed on top of it .The wireless induction charger works with devices like the LG Nexus 4, Nokia Lumina 920 and Samsung Galaxy S4, as well as with various cases and dongles widely available for iOS devices.”

This is an easy to use device that can be used anywhere and is especially useful during travel and other such situations. It is an ideal device for today’s fast paced life and a facility for those who are on-the-move, without the hassle of chargers and availability of sockets and electricity. This wireless quality makes it a great convenience and more reliable than other phone chargers being used. Also, in addition to all this, Concrete Charger is compatible with a number of phones and other devices.

Near Field Communication (NFC) tags are a form of technology that can store information using microchips present in them and share it with other devices that are also NFC enabled. This feature has also been added to ConcreteCharger to allow users to carry out some functions while their phone is being charged using the innovative charger.  “According to the developer, programmable NFC tags are incorporated into the tops which can be used to change ring profiles or perform other tasks such as launching an alarm app when the NFC-enabled device is laid on the charger on a nightstand.” This feature makes the Concrete Charger even more attractive. “The block is being offered in two options i.e concrete with cork and black cherrywood with felt, selling for $549 and $449 respectively.” The main features of Concrete charger have been explained below.

Concrete/Cork has a length of 18” and a width of 12” and a height of 1-3/4” whereas Black Cherry/Felt has length 7.7″ and width 7.7″ with height of 1-3/4″. In addition both have Polycarbonate Indicator Blade and NFC-enabled top which causes some functions to be performed which include setting alarm, ring profiles etc. It can be seen that the black cherry one is smaller but both devices offer convenience and portability. O’dea Design has come up with a new and completely different idea by developing ConcreteCharger which is a cornerstone in technological progress and helps users in one of their basic daily activities.
