According to RIM’s official blog; Inside BlackBerry, the Waterloo-based company will be releasing their latest tablet, the LTE PlayBook on August 9. Canada will be the first country to get their hands on the 32 GB device which features much faster processing and download speeds than its predecessors.

The LTE version is expected to be made available via Rogers, Bell and TELUS, with plans varying in price and length (akin to Smartphone and other tablet plans). Although unconfirmed, pricing is expected to be around the $350-$550 range (as reported earlier this week by TQ via MobileSyrup).

The device will be the first to feature RIM’s BlackBerry Video Store app, which allows for the download and rental of various new and older release film and television shows optimised for the PlayBook. New release items will be downloadable on the same day their official DVD is released.

According to the blog post, international releases are to be expected in the coming months for carriers in Europe, the US, South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
