Developers will now be able to add more descriptive news feed stories on Facebook after the social media platform unveiled its latest Flexible Sentences feature.
The new tool will allow application developers to deliver news feeds that are less awkward, make the Facebook news feed richer as well as attract more downloads from users. As part of the new feature, the social media giant has given another helping hand to developers with a tool that pinpoints the stories that are shared highest and require rewording.
With the addition of the new tool third party developers will gain further exposure and unlike app stores utilised by other brands they will not be in a rush to reach the top of the downloads chart in order to get discovered. A brilliant addition for application developers the more descriptive news feeds will increase curiosity amongst users while also giving them a highlight on what the app delivers.
The previous syntax format for Facebook, “[User Name] [Verb] [Noun] on [App Name]” will remain usable, while developers using custom actions can further tune their news feeds to deliver greater information to their users.
Benefits from the new development go both ways with Facebook itself expected to gain big from this latest addition as the social media platform can now better place advertising around content while it can also better target those adverts around what people are doing in third party applications creating more clicks while in turn increasing its revenue generation.
This development is part of Facebook’s “one feed to rule them all” strategy and the content generated will help it to better target advertising to users.
