A designer named Federico Ciccarese has created a watch that connects to Apple’s voice controlled concierge service Siri. The device is being called a iSiri Smartwatch and is expected to be a competitor for Pebble. The device is exactly like a watch in every way, allowing  the user to wear it on their wrist and connect to the user’s iPhone through Bluetooth. A user can then either talk into the device while it’s on their wrist or they can use hands free headphones to communicate with Siri. They should be able to get all the functions of Siri through the smartwatch.

For now the iSiri Smartwatch is only a concept design and there is no concrete plan for its production. However, the new design is an interesting look at where voice control technology is headed and what is possible. This was considered science fiction only a few decades ago but is now becoming reality. Thanks to the efforts of companies like Apple and Google, voice recognition is becoming very sophisticated and is also learning and adapting. We may soon see a lot more devices that can be controlled by voice to aid in making our lives easier. This should give users the freedom to use their hands as they work, play or study.
