On November 21, popular social network Facebook publicized a large number of updates that were made to the platform that are geared specifically towards developers. The major change came by way of  Insights for Open Graph with updated versions of the publish, impression, and referral clicks functions for mobile devices.

Developers will now be able to see where traffic is coming from including platforms likes iPhone, iPad, Android, or mobile browser. This will give Facebook developers a chance to see how different types of mobile users behave on their apps. The new Mobile Insights feature signals Facebook’s push towards mobile and shows that it will now be focusing on this sector a lot more. In more mobile news from Facebook, the company updated the beta version of Facebook SDK 3.0 for Android with many changes to the API.

Facebook has also given developers the ability to download their payment reports directly from the developer site instead of using the API. Interestingly, the tool allows download of all daily reports available from the API including detail and digest reports for the last 45 days. All users have to do is click on the Company tab in Settings after logging into the developer site.
