News has been coming fast and furious regarding various Facebook changes that are currently in the testing phase, including the new ‘Reply’ option for individual messages on specific Timeline comments. It seems that Facebook is looking to diversify its profile offerings as well, recently announcing the introduction of profile pages for couples who register together on the social networking website. The name of this new page is cleverly titled ‘us’.
This effort is not the first time that Facebook has stealthily brought in changes to their website without letting users know about it. As a result of that fact, many users are still curiously exploring the new ‘us’ page format and concept that combines a person and his or her partner’s pictures, posts and events they share with each other on a separate and distinct page from their individual profiles.
In addition to this, the ‘us’ page on Facebook also features mutual friends and ‘Likes’ between users and their partners. In brief, this page is all about people and their significant others and provides them and their loved ones a place to rejoice about everything they have shared with one another and the Facebook community as a whole on the social networking platform. Facebook users can access the ‘us’ page simply by visiting facebook.com/us, if they have selected the “in a relationship” option in their profile.
The idea of an ‘us’ page is not entirely new, bearing similarity to the previously introduced friends’ pages on the website. The friends’ page on Facebook is similar in that it allows users to view photos, posts, and events that they have shared with their friends, akin to the ‘us’ page format and feel. As always, when 1 in 7 people world round use your platform, any changes, updates or new options will be met by people who will sit on both sides of the fence. Let us know what you think of the ‘us’ pages.
