After updating the Facebook app for BlackBerry 10 back in March, BlackBerry has now said that the new 10.2.0 version of the social networking app is available for download. The latest iteration of Facebook’s app will enable BlackBerry smartphone users to enjoy an improved social networking experience, as the Waterloo-based company has upgraded the new variant with several novel features like viewing, sorting and uploading pictures. Here is how Blackberry has described all the fresh features of Facebook app on its blog:
“Create an album: You can now create a new albums from your photos page, so organizing all those great shots you capture on your BlackBerry 10 device is easy.
Upload to a specific album: now you can add a new photo to an existing album on your Facebook page, or to that new album you just created.
Enable tagging in existing photos: Want to tag a photo that already exists on Facebook from you BlackBerry 10 device? Now you can with this feature that’s new to the app.
New ways to toggle and easily view photos: Easily toggle between all your photos and Albums. All photos comprises of all the photos with you in them. Album photos are photos you have uploaded yourself.
Newsfeed design refresh: The newsfeed has been refined with a few visual tweaks that make navigating the Facebook app for BlackBerry 10 that much more enjoyable.”
With the introduction of this new version of the Facebook app, BlackBerry users will not only be able to connect with their friends and family members on the go, but they will also be able to experience new features, which were already available on the Facebook app of other leading mobile platforms for quite some time now.
According to BlackBerry, users across the world who are using 10.1 edition of the BlackBerry OS on their handsets can now download the new Facebook app from BlackBerry World. The BlackBerry app store currently houses more than 100,000 apps and includes numerous popular applications, which were never offered by the Canadian smartphone maker before the launch of BB10.
Before the launch of BlackBerry’s new ecosystem, CEO Thorsten Heins and company claimed that they will make 70,000 apps available at the time of launch, which was not an easy task. However, Heins and his team worked really hard and finally managed to offer roughly 70,000 apps to BlackBerry users and since then they have added many more apps to the ecosystem.
