Flipboard, a popular social magazine app, has introduced some changes in its working methods, now allowing readers to create and share their own personalised magazines with friends, families and followers. The recent changes are made keeping in view the changing trends of the new media and to keep on growing in popularity as well as the number of app users.

Flipboard allows the readers to easily flip through different news items from around the world, but the recent development has changed its method altogether. Now the readers will not only be able to flip through the news items, but they will also be able to select their favourite stories on any topic and create their own personalised magazines that can be shared with others.

“With more than 50 million users, Flipboard is used every day as a place to catch up on the things you care about. But starting now, it’s also a great place to share opinions, save favorite stories, and express your point of view. This is our biggest release ever and one that we think will open an entirely new experience for our readers,” said Mike McCue, Flipboard CEO.

The personalised magazines can contain published material, audio and video tracks and all the other facilities available through the digital media. The task of creating a magazine is not very difficult either. One has to select the title of the magazine and then add description and the category in which the magazine falls. The users can keep adding all the stories they like into their magazines and the original source of the content will be notified of the addition.

Managing the magazines you create is also pretty easy. You can change the cover of your magazine any time you want. Moreover, you can easily change the privacy settings and restrict public access to the magazine. Flipboard is inspired by beauty and ease of print media and it has attempted to integrate the print touch into the new media environment. As the number of users suggests, this app has gained wide popularity and by the looks of the things it might keep on growing even more.
