On July 31 the Foodshootr application was released for Iphone and in some time will be available for Android and BlackBerry as well. This is a useful app for food lovers as people can take pictures of their food and share them in this community and can share views on restaurants and get in touch with other users. Meals are a very important part of our day. They help us satisfy our hunger but also help us in strengthening our bond with loved ones and relating to others. It is a vital part of social interactions and therefore this app was launched to form a ‘food-centered’ community where people can share opinions and views.
TechVibes says that, “Foodshootr mixes the stylistic photos of Instagram with the destination sharing features of Foursquare.”
The CEO of Foodshootr, Alexander Perri is himself a photographer and food enthusiast and he loved sharing photos of food and therefore this idea came to him. He explains that although a lot of people use Instagram, this app is designed specially to cater to pictures of food and build a community around it. “We are trying to take a step back and bring the whole food aspect back to it,” Perri told Techvibes. “You can argue that everybody has Instagram, and would Instagram their food, but it is too cluttered and you will always find a bunch of other photos on there. And it is hard to come across great food when you are trying to find something good to eat.”
Foodshootr is not just an app based on photography. It is a place where people can share their views and know about different restaurants anywhere in the world and share photographs as well so it basically makes the process of selecting a good meal so much easier as people can constantly know about good restaurants close to them based on views. It is also a great way for restaurant owners to advertise and spread news about their food as they can also take pictures with delicious delights and attract foodies. “We spoke with a lot of restaurant owners and we are making them see the benefits of Foodshootr,” said Perri. “They want their customers to have a good experience at their restaurant. So they are taking pictures and sharing it with their friends and that will help drive traffic for customers.”
Foodshootr is a great app that will certainly have a vast appeal as almost everyone is a food enthusiast and even if they are not the yummy pictures are sure to make them feel hungry.
