FounderFuel General Manager, Ian Jeffrey, Real Ventures‘s John Stokes are set to hit the road for a seven day tour starting this September in order to carry out a “Pan-Canadian Pitch Training Workshop for IT Startups.” During the tour the duo will give the golden opportunity to both entrepreneurs and startups to gain knowledge from the most active accelerator coaches in Canada. During the PITCH IT Workshop Stokes will teach the participants “How to pitch for a seed round,” while Jeffrey on the other hand will talk about how to “Deliver a killer pitch.”
Shedding light on their upcoming tour, Jeffrey said that, “Weʼre on a mission to meet the very best entrepreneurs from coast to coast and help them along the way. PITCH IT aims to assist entrepreneurs to better articulate their business in a powerful and meaningful way that will cut through the clutter and resonate with investors.”
After two years FounderFuel has decided to shift gears and as a result of that it is now travelling to various cities of Canada in order to promote its next group. The knowledge’ tour will not only allow the startups to know what the program is offering, but it will also give entrepreneurs a chance to have chitchat with Jeffrey and others over beers.
The cohort of FounderFuel for Spring 2014 will most probably start from February 3rd onwards, whereas the last date to apply for the group will end on October 15th. As far as the Demo Day for the Spring 2014 cohort is concerned it is likely to take place on May 1st. Meanwhile, program could see some new changes, as according to Jeffrey, from previous experience they have learned that each cohort brings something new or adapts a new approach. Therefore, they also bring changes to their program.
Besides this, FounderFuel will also use this tour to find out potential cohorts for the future. After the “master Classes” startups will be given a chance to deliver pitch in front of the audience so Real Ventures and FounderFuel could give feedback. FounderFuel says that the participants of the program can also expect “tangible feedback and action items, not to mention the tough love they need,”
Partner at Real Ventures, John said on this occasion that, “It’s the foundersʼ underlying insight on the opportunity that shapes what a company builds and how it is marketed. Crafting a captivating story from that insight is a difficult process for many entrepreneurs, but itʼs what separates the good investor pitches from the great.”
