The internet has taken over or at least presented an alternative for users for carrying out almost all kinds of activities. The technological advancement in the entire world has brought everything at our finger tips and it continues to come up with something new.

People love to gamble will now be able to avail a unique facility offered by the technology. These people will be able to gamble from their hotel rooms, though this trend is just in the experiment phase and is yet to spread to all casinos in the world.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City is reportedly going to be the first hotel to offer its customers a chance to take part in gambling from their rooms. This unique facility will be available from February 18, and the gamblers will be able to place their bets and play different games over their hotel room TV set.

Since it is still in the trial phase, the amount of money that can be spent in a day is $2,500. Slots and video poker will be the offered games. If the state approves it, we will get a new way of gambling. According to the Associated Press, Tom Balance, the Borgata’s president and chief operating officer, said, via NY Daily News:

“This puts us in a position to leverage the technology into true mobile gaming and Internet betting later on. We’re moving forward with the future of gaming, and this is that first step.”

Meanwhile, Joe Lupo, senior vice president of operations at Borgata, is of the view that the e-gambling model will be successful and it will pass the regulatory hurdles. Reuters quoted him as saying:

“[The technology] provides us a first look and first step at things that are greater to come, both with mobile technology and internet technology.

“We are fully confident that it will be successful and we can incorporate what we learned into both the mobile and internet regulatory processes,” said Lupo

Although the gamblers will be able to gamble from their hotel rooms, a strict check will be maintained so as to ensure that everyone is abiding by the regulations. The gamblers will be issued with a password to be able to gamble from their hotel rooms. This will ensure that no underage gamblers are involved. If this phase yields positive results, the casino plans on adding more games to this facility.
