Technology giant and leading search engine Google has involved itself in different e-commerce related projects overr the years to diversify income streams. The most recent venture from the multinational corporation was Google Wallet which uses NFC technology to make payments through smartphones. It seems that with each investment in the sector, Google is getting more fond of e-commerce an pushes its services in innovative directions. The Mountain View based company has now announced a new product named Zavers by Google on Friday, January 11, 2013. At the time of announcement Google made it known that it first showcased Zavers to visitors at the National Retail Federation (NFR) Convention & Expo in New York, which started on January 13 and ran through January 14, 2013. To avoid any confusion with its other e-commerce projects Google also gave out some details about Zavers along with the announcement.
According to Google, Zavers will enable users to save digital coupons from their favourite retailers’ websites to their accounts, so they can purchase those products and check out using the saving from the coupon. Moreover, the firm also noted that redemption takes place in real-time through Zavers and it is automatically subtracted at checkout when users give their phone numbers or reward cards.
Google also revealed that transactions, which takes place under Zavers gets stored in the cloud. This enables manufacturers to view the actual pace of redemptions in real-time, which makes it quite easy for them to plan and target shoppers in order to boost their proceeds.
