Google search feature is now available for iOS devices after the search engine launched an update to its Google search app specifically for the customers using iOS devices. The launch of the new product was delayed, but now it will ensure its reach to a wider market.

Android users have been using this feature for almost a year now, but iOS users had to wait for a long time to get their hands on this feature. Google Now provides ease to the users by identifying them and their needs. Based on the users’ activities the app will collect relevant data for them and show if they are of any use.

Guardian quoted Google’s Android product management director Baris Gultekin, the co-creator of Google Now, as saying:

“It has been on Android for a while now, but we want to bring our products to all of our users, in more or less the same way.”

Google Now attempts to judge its users and then come up with the features that could attract them. For example, if you are a sports lover and follow any particular sport regularly, Google Now can give you scores of any game without you needing to search for them. Gultekin said:

“Google Now comes after this: previously you had to issue a search to get these answers, and with Google Now you get what you need before you even ask. We talk about it as the assistant that gives you information throughout the day, without you having to ask. It fits broadly into our strategy: we want computers to do the hard work so users can focus on what matters in their life.”

Meanwhile, authorities at Google are of the view that the new app provides ample security and that the users will not need to worry about privacy measures. Google will filter and control the data being used by the app so as to make sure privacy is not compromised. According to Gultekin:

“We take privacy very seriously, and make it very clear what the user will get, and what kind of data we’ll be using, and lots of controls so they can turn things off that they don’t like. You can also opt out if you choose to. Users are finding it very valuable, but we also provide lots of insight into where this information is coming from, control and transparency.”
