Canadian fans of Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Huawei (pronounced WAH-WAY) have reason to celebrate. The company’s highly touted Ascend P1 device is now officially available through Wind Mobile.

Wind currently offers other Huawai phones among their repertoire, however the Ascend is clearly the best device of the lot.

Priced as low as $49 with a long-term contract or $399 if you are merely interested in the hardware, the device is incredibly well prices considered the specs that it offers. Consider the following:

– 4.3-inch 960 x 540 qHD display

– 7.69mm thickness

– 4GB local storage plus microSD slot (up to 32GB)

– Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (should be upgraded to 4.1 Jelly Bean soon)

– 8 megapixel camera (1080p) with 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and dual LED flash

– 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor

Wind is currently running a limited time promotion for those interested in purchasing the Ascend P1. Those who buy the device in store will receive two free tickets to watch The Expendables 2 featuring every 90’s action star you can name.
