InteraXon, a company working with brainwave powered experiences has recently collected a whopping six million dollars for its work and declared this at the Grow Conference held about a week ago. A large number of companies took part in the fundraising for the startup and the major participants include Horizon Ventures, Fecilis Ventures, Bridge Builders and a company owned by the famous Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher which is called A-Grade Investments which deals with financial investments.
In the past also, InteraXon has raised money for its interesting and creative ideas relating to brain waves that power action. “InteraXon previously raised money through a crowdfunding campaign. Aiming for $150,000, InteraXon raised nearly $300,000 for Muse, its six-sensor headset that monitors brainwaves.” Muse is a very different project that has been explained below. “Muse measures your brainwaves in real-time,” the company explains. “It sends those brainwaves to your smart phone or tablet showing you how well your brain is performing and also translates your brainwaves into instructions to interact with content on your iOS or Android device.” So, through this new technology the signals from your brain can be tested and can be used to carry out some tasks on your phone.
However, despite its groundbreaking innovations, InteraXon is a relatively new startup that was launched in 2007. It has some great ideas which are being implemented. One of the best of these was when it created lights and installed them on famous sites including Niagara Falls, the CN tower and the Canadian Parliament building. This was during the 2010 Olympics that were held in Vancouver and the amazing thing about these lights was that people could control the lights from far away by just using signals that the brain produced.
The company has been making waves everywhere and has created new ideas and implemented them for some companies like Wrigley’s and TEDx Toronto. “Since then we’ve been building the coolest things we can think of,” the company says. “For Wrigley’s we created a system that turned users’ chews into jolts of electricity and floods of juice in a race to explode virtual fruits on screen. For the 2011 TEDx Toronto after party we built a game where users raced to fill virtual martini glasses by concentrating.”
“InteraXon says it wants Muse to be an everyday part of your life, which is why they made it fashionable and comfortable.”
