When founder and Executive Director of Khan Academy, Salman Khan launched his educational organization and website back in 2006, he never imagined that his labour of love would become such a huge hit, achieving another important step by releasing an app of it for iPod Touch and iPhone.
The Khan Academy iOS app was released on November 23 to cater the iPod Touch and iPhone users world round. Now whether you are a student, educator or mentor, you can now access the wellspring of educative material offered by Khan Academy as the startup intended from your small iOS device.
This is another leap forward for Harvard Business School and MIT graduate Salman Khan and his Khan Academy, which are on a mission to change education for the better by “providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere” through this not-for-profit platform.
Through this latest app, iPod Touch and iPhone users will be able to access more than 3,600 video tutorials that teach a wide variety of subjects spanning mathematics, medicine, healthcare, finance, history, physics, chemistry, economics, biology, astronomy, American civics, art history, cosmology, organic chemistry, computer science, macroeconomics and microeconomics.
iPhone and iPod touch users can download videos of these tutorials through the Khan Academy app that has high profile backers including Google, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This makes Khan Academy app a must-have thing for anyone looking to access a wealth of knowledge in their handheld device.
