The CEO of Apple Tim Cook shared his thoughts about Google Glass at the All Things D D11 conference and said that the head mounted device would most probably cater to specific markets. However, by mentioning specific markets Cook did not mean at all that Glass is going to attract the porn industry. ZDnet was the first to uncover this niche market for Glass an during an interview with the co-founder of MiKandi “the world’s first and largest adult app store,” Jennifer McEwen was asked about whether the porn industry is looking to roll out the first ever Glassware with porn. His reply was, “Obviously, Glass is perfect for shooting POV video, so we’re experimenting with that first. But what’s really interesting about Glass is that it’s not just a hands free camera. It can receive and send data, so there are a lot of interesting interactions that we want to explore.

Being hands-free and hassle-free is a simple but big difference Glass has over other similar devices. It’s so easy and familiar to wear, that from a shooter’s perspective it feels like you’re recording with your own eyes. Because it feels so natural, you can forget about the technology and just be in the moment.

On top of that, with Glass you can share and interact with fans and followers, allowing them intimate access to your experiences. It’s like being John Malkovich where you’re viewing the world through someone else’s eyes.”

The co-founder also revealed that MiKandi will most probably be the only adult company, which has Google Glass. In addition, the company is also looking to develop the first porn app for Glass. With this app users will not only be able to view porn videos, but also be able to produce their own porn videos, which they would be able to upload so other people could also watch it.

In spite of MiKandi’s effort it seems that the rest of the porn industry is not attracted to Glass. Moreover, due to unauthorised imaging issues a number of bistros, bars and strip clubs have already banned Glass. The managing partner of Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club that is located in Las Vegas has recently said during an interview with NBC that “If they don’t want to check [their Glass], we’d be happy to give them a limo ride back to their hotel.”

Nevertheless, the picture will get more clear when Google will finally make the Glass available for sale to the general buyer.
