So far we have seen several leaked images of Apple’s low-cost iPhone 5C, but now a new image has popped up on the internet, which shows numerous inexpensive models of the flagship smartphone are being tested in one of the facilities of Pegatron. NoWhereElse.fr was the first to report the new leaked image of iPhone 5C, but it was Engadget that has first indicated after some investigation that image given on the left side was taken at the Shanghai plant of Pegatron by an employee. Here is what the report says about that employee of Pegatron, who had leaked this image:
“According to her posts, the cheeky employee — or more likely an ex-employee at this point — in question joined the company’s quality control department around mid-July. In an earlier comment, she also hinted that her plant is responsible for the latest Mac mini as well.”
The employee has posted the above image on Friday, August 23rd at Weibo and made the following comments on it:
“The low-end iPhone 5C to be launched for Chinese consumers in September doesn’t look much different than the Xiaomi Phone 2, right?”
The employee has surely shared a valuable image, as this new leaked picture of iPhone 5C has confirmed two things, one the low-cost smartphone does exist and two it is manufactured Pegatron and not by Foxconn, which has earlier produced the predecessors of the handset for Apple.
However, at this point in time cannot be said with surety to what extent iPhone 5C is similar to the Chinese Xiaomi Phone 2, but one thing is for sure that it is definitely going to be beat the Chinese smartphone in quality because low-cost does not mean that Apple may have compromised on the quality of its flagship smartphone.
Previously several reports have indicated that Apple will produce a low-cost iPhone this year to capture more market share in developing markets like China and India. So finally it seems that these reports aboyt inexpensive smartphone of Apple were true because it is almost ready to make its debut.
As far as the launch date of the two iPhones is concerned, rumour has it that Apple will most probably launch them on September 10th at an event. Nevertheless, so far Apple has not confirmed these launch date reports. Let’s hope that Apple will soon announce the launch date of iPhones, as earlier in 2012 it as released the iPhone 5 on September 12.
