We recently published a report of an alleged 5-inch LG Optimus G Pro device on Talk Queen. In that article we stated that the device is expected to be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress that will be held in Barcelona from 25th to 28th of February. However, now two new leaked images have emerged on the PhoneArena site, which are showing a new 5.5-inch LG Optimus G Pro smartphone. One of these leaked screenshots is showing the new smartphone itself, whereas the other picture is shedding light on the specs of the alleged device. Along with these leaked images, the site has reported that Korean manufacturer LG is looking a release a 5.5-inch smartphone for its home customers together with the Optimus G Pro.
This clarifies why LG did not reveal any of its mobile devices at CES 2013. However, there is no concrete details in the matter because so far the two new alleged images have not received any official confirmation. If you take a close look at these images, you will find out that they are clearly labelled as LG and the fruits wallpaper in the smartphone also shows a highly saturated image that comes with each mobile device from LG now a days. All these things indicate that there is a high probability that such a smartphone does exist.
On top of it the specs laid out in this alleged image are showing that this 5.5-inch phone is suspected to be a phablet like Samsung’s Galaxy Note II. It has a 1.7Ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC processor, 13 megapixel camera, 32GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a 3140mAh battery powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a microSD slot. Considering these robust internal features, it is expected that LG is gearing up to take on the Galaxy Note II of Samsung. This means that finally someone is going to give Samsung a good run for its money in this category as well.
Canadians must also be excited to see this new device from LG and hoping that LG may make this 5.5-inch smartphone available in Canada. Nevertheless, these new images have confirmed one thing for certain that LG is looking to introduce a new line-up of its mobile devices at the Mobile World Congress, of which one could be this phablet that looks pretty similar to Samsung’s smartphones.
