When LG made it known that it was holding a press conference on February 25th at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it was clear that the South Korean company was getting ready to launch four new mobile phones at the event. However, one thing that was still not clear was when LG would make the new mobile device available for consumers. Rumour has it that its fellow Korean smartphone maker and competitor, Samsung, may launch its much anticipated flagship device, Galaxy S IV, on March 15. And if this rumour proves true then, LG can face some serious problems, as it would badly hurt the sales of its upcoming handsets because originally the multinational company was looking to launch their new devices in March. Due to this reason, LG has allegedly decided to change the release date of its new flagship smartphone, Optimus G Pro, which is actually two mobiles, one with 5-inch Full HD display and other 5.5-inch FHD.

According to the latest report, LG is looking to move up the launch date of Optimus G Pro from March to February after introducing this handset along with three others at MWC, so it could get some competition free days, if Samsung launches Galaxy S IV in the mid of next month. Samsung Galaxy S IV on the other hand is perhaps the most eagerly awaited phone of 2013 and LG does not want to get involved in any sort of problems by coming face to face with its fellow Korean company that already holds more market and brand loyalty.

LG made this alleged decision after rumours surfaced that Samsung is looking to move forward the announcement date of the Galaxy S IV to March 15. The S IV will be launched in Europe during April, whereas the Americans, Africans and Australians are rumoured to be getting their hands on the smartphone in May or June. Earlier it was expected that Samsung has plans to introduce their smartphone a week before than March 15.

An early release will help LG Optimus G Pro to post better sales as compared to launching it simultaneously with Samsung Galaxy S IV. Folks, who get the impression from this report that LG is afraid of taking challenges, should recognize that today there is a cut throat competition in mobile marketplace and to earn even a single penny companies have fight hard. Therefore, by giving some competition free days to its devices, LG has made a wise move.
