LG once again grabbed the lime light when the South Korean OEM when it was recently announced that the company is holding a press event in New York City on August 7th. LG did not reveal any details regarding the mysterious event. In fact the Korean smartphone maker has just called the fare an “international media event.” Therefore, at this point in time it is hard to make any predictions of what to expect from the international event, but one thing is for sure that it is definitely going to be an exciting new story. Rumours suggest that LG could unveil a new device on this occasion, but for the time being nothing is official so all fans can do is just wait.
Nevertheless, if one carefully analyses the last press release from Qualcomm and LG, it is not hard to see that they have teased consumers by giving a hint that the successor of its flagship Optimus G device would boast a Snapdragon 800 processor. This suggests that LG is on the verge of launching the next gen of its popular Optimus G device. Most signs point to the August 7th event to be the launching pad for the companies next flagship device.
LG has also revealed in the press release that the performance of Optimus G’s successor has improved by 75 percent as compared to its predecessor because it has integrated a brand new Qualcomm chipset. Moreover, the next gen Optimus G smartphone sports a new Adreno 330 GPU that gives performs two times better than the Adreno 320 GPU of the existing flagship phone.
The upcoming device will also support LTE network and feature Qualcomm IZat Location technology to give enhanced GPS performance as well as aSMP (asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing) that is ideal for dynamic power that offers top performance better battery life. As far as the display resolution is concerned LG has enticed the users by saying that next gen Optimus G’s screen will have 2560 x 2048 pixels. Furthermore, Korean manufacturer will also introduce HD multichannel audio via DTS-HD and Dolby Digital Plus in the new Optimus G.
