LG’s flagship smartphone, Optimus G, has gotten a good reception from Android phone lovers in South Korea and other countries around the world. It is because of this very reason the Korean manufacturer has been able to exceed the one million units sold milestone for the Optimus G within just three months of its launch. LG released their handset back in November 2012 and in this short period Optimus G has become a favourite smartphone for many consumers.
Bell, Rogers, SaskTel and TELUS are major Canadian telecom carriers that have made Optimus G available for sale through their platform and have definitely reaped the benefits. LG did announce the Optimus G one million sales mark but the company did not mention a country breakdown in their sales data. However, it can be safely said that a majority of LG’s Optimus G got sold in South Korea, USA and Japan.
The interesting thing is that LG still has not made Optimus G available for sale in several European countries and China. LG is looking to bring this handset in these countries during the first quarter of 2013 an the company can safely assume that it will get a sales boot from China and various European countries. Moreover, it was also reported that LG is also preparing the successor of to Optimus G, which is expected to be announced or revealed at 2013 World Mobile Congress.
