After launching its brand new 5.5-inch phablet, the LG Optimus G Pro, in South Korea and US the Korean company has finally declared that it is bringing the device to the rest of Asia now. LG revealed that it will make it available for sale throughout the continent during June, which will not only help the company earn more profit, but also enable it to extend the presence of Optimus G Pro in other countries of Asia besides South Korea. This is surely terrific news for smartphone lovers in Asia, especially for those who are looking beyond Samsung Galaxy smartphones and Apple’s iPhone, as the 5.5-inch hybrid device is a beast in itself.
This could be judged from its top notch specs, which includes a powerful 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor, full HD IPS display that boasts 1920 x 1080 pixels at 400 ppi, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storing capacity. In addition, LG Optimus G Pro also sports a 13-megapixel rear snapper along with a front facing 2.1-megapixel shooter to make video calls. The phablet is powered by Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and it was the first device in the entire world which featured a 1.7 GHz processor, when LG launched in earlier this year. The handset has a 3,140mAh removable battery that has the capability to get charged wirelessly.
On this occasion, talking about their expansion in Asia, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Dr. Jong-seok Park said that, “LG’s Optimus G Pro sets a new benchmark in the over 5-inch display smartphone category which is catching on with consumers everywhere who aren’t interested in owning both a phone and a tablet. Asian customers are leading many of today’s technology trends and we’re confident Optimus G Pro will find a large following in this region.”
Initially, LG will make the Optimus G Pro available for sale in Hong Kong from next month and after that the 4G LTE enabled device will be shipped to other countries in theAsian continent, which includes Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippine, during the same month.
However, LG has not revealed the exact price of G Pro for each market, but it is likely that the company will reveal the cost before making the phablet available in each country. In South Korea, Optimus G Pro was offered at a price of 968,000 won that is roughly $900.
