First 3D televisions and then 3D printers, it seems that manufacturers have fallen in love with 3D devices and that is why they are now developing new or improved 3D gadgets. The latest attempt in this regard is 3Doodler that may change the way we think about 3D printing. 3Doodler is not just another 3D printer that automatically prints out the models of various objects once a design is created. 3Doodler is actually the first of its kind pen-like device that is “the most affordable way to 3D print,” according to its creators. The developers of the pen also call 3Doodler the “world’s first” 3D pen with which artists and people can draw their designs and bring them in to existence. Moreover, just like several 3D printers, the 3Doodler also utilizes ABS plastic that comes out in a heated form and then, gets cool down instantly.
3Doodler is a product from WobbleWorks that has released this project earlier on Tuesday, February 19 on Kickstater and shortly after it was launched the project surpassed its $30,000 funding goal. To be precise, the 3Doodler’s Kickstarter campaign met its target in only a few hours after its launch and at this point in time it has touch $535,680 figure with the help of 6,044 backers and still counting. This means that 3Doodler has so far secured more than 10 times its actual target, which is a great feat for any startup especially ones that have developed cheaper devices to produce 3D designs. Because prior to this 3D pen, to buy a 3D printer one had to really dig deep into his or her pockets. Due to this very reason, till today 3D printers have failed to become mainstream devices.
However, now with the advent of 3Doodler, people will be able to transform their desired designs to reality. If you too are interested in buying such a device then, 3Doodler has provided a great opportunity because the first shipment of the 3D pen is listed to ship in September 2013 which is not too far off. Initially WobbleWorks has ordered a stock for the first 5,000 financers of the project but as the number has progressed so it seems that there is a change in plan. The price of a 3Doodler is just $75 and it is expected to reach backers in October.
